Can I register at the Door?
No, advance registration is required. We strongly recommend that you consider registering at least two weeks in advance to secure your seat in the class/exam, have the option to purchase and study the review materials. Call 866-372-7233 for more details.
What time does the CFPM class start or exam start?
The Food Manager Review class starts at 9:00 a.m. and the Exam begins at 2:00 p.m. All times are local.
What is a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM)?
Certified Food Protection Manager is a designation awarded to individuals passing a written examination on their knowledge of food safety and sanitation. The standards for certification are developed by the
Conference for Food Protection (CFP), a national food safety deliberative body, and endorsed by the
U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The ServSafe Manger's Exam is formally referred to as ServSafe Food Protection Manager's Exam. In Florida it is commonly referred to as a Certified Food Manager or Certified Professional Food Manager's (CPFM) exam.
Who has to take the CFPM Exam?
Florida Statutes Chapter 509.039 requires that all managers in a public food service establishment regulated by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation receive their CFPM certification. Establishments with workers that are responsible for the storage, preparation, display, and serving of food to the public, must have at least one CFPM (Formerly known as the Certified Professional Food Manager, CPFM) on premise at all times, when four or more employees are on duty.

How long is the Food Manager Certification good for in Florida?
Your certification is good for five (5) years from the date of examination.

How do I obtain a duplicate ServSafe® Food Manager Certificate?
With new ServSafe eCertificates you can access and print your own valid certificate at any time. Certification must have taken place within the last five (5) years. A hard copy can be ordered by downloading and submitting the
Certificate and Score Release Request Form with payment directly to NRA Solutions/ServSafe
®. This form may also be used to change or correct the spelling of your name on your ServSafe® Food Manager Certificate. Duplicate certificates may only be ordered for valid certifications that were administered within the last 5 years. Always call first to ensure there is an active certification on file for you before submitting an order with payment. Call 866-372-7233 for assistance.
Do you need to be a CFPM to administer the SafeStaff® Food Handler Training?
To comply with the Florida Statutes Section 509.049, you must be CFPM in order to administer the SafeStaff® Employee Foodhandler Program.
What is the Test with Confidence (TWC) Coupon?
Effective December 31, 2022 we are no longer offer the Test with Confidence promotion. We will no longer offer a free exam retest option.
How do I get my exam results?
Has it been 14 days since you took the ServSafe
® exam or did you receive an Email saying your exam results are available online? If so, you may log on to the
ServSafe® website, register and obtain your score and print your certificate (if applicable). You must achieve a 70% or higher on your exam to pass and receive a certificate. Need help, just give us a call at 866.372.7233 and we can help with your certificate download.
How long does a Food Manager have to become certified?
Upon employment in a DBPR licensed food service operation, a manager has 30 days to pass the required examination and become certified as a CFPM. If you are not a DBPR licensee, click on the Certification Requirements section for more information.
I took the Food Managers exam in another state, is it good in Florida?
If the exam you took is a Conference for Food Protection Examination like ServSafe
®, then yes, your certification is valid in Florida for 5 years from the date of examination.
What is ServSafe®?
ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Conference for Food Protection (CFP). ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification Exam is valid, reliable and legally defensible. ServSafe® is the certification the industry trusts and is recognized nationally and internationally. In fact, more than 3 million ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certifications have been awarded to date.
What language is the ServSafe® Food Manager Exam available in?
Written examination booklets are offered in English or bilingual Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, French Canadian and large print. Requests for exams in languages other than English require 30 days advance notice and preregistration.
Is the ServSafe® Food Managers Exam available online?
Yes, the ServSafe
® Exam is available online, but is still administered in a Proctored environment. You can't take the exam at home. We have currently launched online testing in Tallahassee. Stay tuned as we announce more locations around the state. Be sure you have contacted a proctor before ever purchasing the ServSafe
® Online Exam Voucher.

Does FRLA provide on-premise Food Manager Certification?
Yes! If you have 10 or more Managers who need CFPM Certification, please contact RCS Training at 800-537-9863 to receive a quote for on-premise certification. Please be advised that your facility must meet exam security standards for testing. This means a facility with a separate closed off room for testing. For more information you can also complete our Feedback/Request Form.
